UAS Drone Facility
On behalf of the Commander of Joe Louis Post 375, Fulton Tyrone Hopkins, and our project partners at Skyfy Groups: https://skyfygroups.com/ and Joe Louis Rest., I am reaching out regarding the former Ford Highland Park Plant property at 91 Manchester St.
We are actively developing a comprehensive redevelopment model to transform the 71.4-acre site into an A++ Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Campus—a multi-phase project featuring 1.35 million SF of advanced aerospace manufacturing, R&D labs, and cleanrooms. Highlights of our proposed $571M capital investment include:
Job Creation & Economic Mobility: 2,150 direct permanent aerospace/defense jobs ($191.5M annual direct payroll) and over 5,400 total supported regional jobs.
Economic Output: $1.25B in annual direct production output and over $2.2B in total regional economic impact.
Tax Generation: An estimated $50.9M annually in local municipal, county, state, and school tax revenues.
Community & Workforce Development: Strategic partnerships with local institutions (WCCCD, Wayne State, U of M Robotics) for an on-site technical training and apprenticeship center.
Given the historical significance of the site and its alignment with our vision for regional revitalization and high-wage job creation, we are seeking to discuss property acquisition options.
Could you please direct us to the appropriate person or team at Ford (such as Land Development, Real Estate, or Corporate Relations) who oversees disposition or inquiries for this property?
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards,
